- EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Methuli Mbanjwa
Methuli Mbanjwa is a dynamic leader and co-founder of Forethought Africa and Forethought Capital, where he serves as Executive Director. With a career spanning over 20 years, Methuli has established himself as a multidisciplinary professional with extensive experience in industrial consulting, technology management, large-scale commercial project development, project management, infrastructure financing, and stakeholder engagement. Methuli is also partner at Embedding Impact, an impact management consultancy.
Methuli’s strong entrepreneurial career focuses on delivering solutions for socio-economic development challenges through infrastructure investments, renewable energy, development technology innovation, enterprise development, and education. He applies his knowledge and experience to opportunities that expose him to challenges requiring leadership, a sense of purpose, and responsibility, while equally providing learning and growth.
His experience over the years includes Infrastructure and Renewable Energy Development, Transaction Advisory, Economic Development Strategy, Business Leadership, and Governance.
His academic credentials include an MBA, a Master’s degree in Chemistry, and several professional qualifications, including the prestigious Prince of Wales Business and Sustainability Programme for Senior Executives from the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership.

Masechaba Mabilu
Masechaba Mabilu is a distinguished business leader with a profound expertise in Sustainability, Social Investments Strategies, and Impact Measurement. As a co-founder of Forethought Group and a partner at Embedding Impact, she has been instrumental in fostering social value at the intersection of business and society.
Masechaba’s career is marked by her extensive experience in Social Performance, Impact Measurement and Management, and Sustainability. She is a recognized Social Return on Investment (SROI) specialist, having led numerous projects across diverse sectors including mining, renewable energy, FMCG, financial services, and development trusts. Her focus areas encompass education, skills development, and enterprise development.
Currently, she serves on the Board of Trustees of the Kouga Wind Farm Community Development Trust, where she chairs its Projects Review Sub-Committee. Additionally, she is a trustee at the Sishen Iron Ore Company Community Development Trust, participating in various committees. Her career spans Renewable Energy, Climate Change and Sustainability, Energy Regulation, and Banking.
Masechaba holds a BSc in Actuarial Science and Statistics, and a BSc (Hons) in Mathematical Statistics from the University of the Witwatersrand, both obtained in 2008. She further enhanced her expertise by completing an Executive Course in Impact Investing in Africa at the Graduate School of Business, University of Cape Town in 2020.
